THREE OF MY FAVOURITE FACE MASKS

Don’t you just love it when you find a wonderful face mask? I’ve certainly found 3 that I keep going back to time and time again, so I thought i’d take this opportunity to share them with you all.

Origins is one of my all time favourite brands, and it is certainly no secret that their skincare is excellent quality and just wonderful on the skin, so its hardly surprising that two out of three of these masks are from Origins (totally not sponsored)

The first that I have loved for YEARS has to be the Origins overnight drink-up intensive mask, wow this product is amazing.
First of all it smells incredible, and secondly, my skin feels so hydrated when I wake up in the morning after using this. As we seem to be having nothing but cold weather and snow recently I find it is even more essential my skin needs a really good intensive moisturise. This isn't thick and heavy, it sinks so nicely into my skin, and I definitely feel as though it is absorbed well. I usually use this mask twice a week, although when I was in Slovenia as it was so cold, I used it every night and it didn't have any adverse affect to my skin for doing that, which was wonderful to know.

Next up is the Origins out of trouble 10 minute mask, is another long time favourite, it is aimed for oily skin, to soak up that wonderful shine (which btw it does fantastically) and evens out rough textures of skin, and helps reduce breakouts. Now I have been getting awful breakouts recently, its like I've been harvesting a couple hundred volcanos on my jawline, so I find using this mask at least once or twice a week just helps to reduce a couple of the volcanos, and to just really cleanse any dirt and oil away from my skin. I definitely notice how clean and even my skin feels after using this product. I find a little goes a long way, although I do lay it heavier on my more problem areas, when needed.

Finally another favourite is the Body Shop warming mineral mask, this always feels so nice to apply, the more you work it on to your skin with your fingers the warmer it feels, now don't worry it doesn’t get really hot, it just has a nice temperature to it, which in this cold weather is helpful. Applying a cold mask when already cold is never fun. Again this mask is aimed for reducing oily skin, which it definitely does the job on that, I definitely notice the appearance of my skin looks a lot more matte after using. The only downside I have noticed is that as the product is so thick, like clay. It is so hard to squeeze out of the tube, especially when its a few months old. I actually thought the top had dried up and blocked the hole, but it just seems to become so thick so it is a bit of a pain to get out and onto your face, but so worth it. My boyfriend even loves this one, he always asks me to pamper him and apply this face mask, so it’s a winner all round in this household.

Do you use any of these face masks? Do you have any recommendations, I’d love to hear them.

MY NEW FAVOURITE EYE CREAM

Something I have come to love over the years (as I become more adult) is eye creams, anything that claims to reduce those pesky eye bags is something I am always drawn to. I have tried and tested a number of eye creams, possibly a review of my favourites would be appropriate, if that is something you would be interested in!?

Today, I want to share with you one of my all time favourite brands, Liz Earle. I discovered Liz Earle back when I was around 17 years old, and as a brand it has to be a firm favourite of mine, even now at the age of 25 years old.
I was lucky enough to receive the Super skin eye cream for Christmas (thanks mum!) and wow, what a luxurious product it is. This particular product came as a set with the eye bright soothing lotion and eye mask, I mean what a perfect present, right!?

The Superskin eye cream is utterly beautiful, it's quite a thick consistency which works very easily into the skin around your eyes, it sinks in and leaves your skin feeling soft and revitalised. It instantly brightens my eye area, which is really important for me when choosing an eye cream, because sadly I was not blessed with bright under eyes and I am often sporting very dark circles, so an extra helping hand is always very welcomed. The ingredients of the pomegranate and green tea focus on the brightening. I often get dry skin around my eyes, and this instantly fixes that. I have found that it works well applied underneath makeup, which I was so impressed with considering it's consistency.

The product itself is packaged in this beautiful bottle, it looks expensive, which for 15ml it is fairly expensive at £35 however, in comparison to other eye creams it is not overpriced, I personally don't think. I am a sucker for packaging, and I definitely love that about the Superskin range, it looks much more high end, but is by no means a rip off. It definitely does what it says on the tin, so to speak.
My sign of loving a product is asking myself "would I buy this again" ABSOLUTELY! is the answer, I never want it to run out, and I will certainly make a quick repurchase once the bottle is empty.

Personally this eye cream definitely sits up there in my top three products, it is so soft and gentle on a sensitive area of skin, it can be used on all skin types as well, and I would say if you do have sensitive skin then this is definitely a safe option to go for, I am utterly in love.

What's your favourite eye cream?

GLAMGLOW supermud clearing treatment

It's me again! Looking somewhat scary.. well that is because I am pampering myself with a Glamglow facemask.

I must admit I have never previously tried any of the products from Glamglow, however, they recently offered to send me a sample of one of their facemasks, which I was extremely grateful for.
They sent me the Supermud clearing treatment facemask and I was so pleased with it. Firstly for the fact it smelt so nice, unlike lots of facemask's I have previously tried, this one smelt like liquorice allsorts, which I thought was so cool.
This particular mask aims to combat common skin concerns and to help minimise pores. I'm lucky, in that, most of the time my skin is not problematic unless its that time of month (If you get what i'm saying). However, I have massive pores on my face, and I feel like this helped so much to minimise them, which I am so pleased about as I find i'm always searching for something to reduce my pores - so I will definitely be using this supermud clearing mask again!!

Glamglow suggest to leave the mask on between 5-20 minutes and I left mine on between this time and took it off when it was fully dry - it turns to a lighter grey once dry.

I'm honestly in love with this product and now I just want to try more and more of their products, I've always heard such positive things about Glamglow and I certainly was not disappointed on this facemask.

You can shop for this face mask here
Have you ever tried this mask? or any other favourites you have from Glamglow?

winter skincare essentials

I think we all know that Winter is a nightmare for our skin, entering the cold outside conditions, being subject to central heating... It can be a nightmare. I know that my skin can be so dry in the winter. So I thought I would share with you my favourite skincare products I use.

1. Garnier Intensive - I always tend to pick up the body moisturiser for dry skin in the winter because it just leaves my skin feeling so much more hydrated for a longer period of time. I hate when you put on a moisturiser and you then think ' did i even apply anything'.

2. Origins drink up mask - ohhhh my gosh this thing is my holy grail of all winter products. I don't actually use it as a 10 minute drink up mask, as it instructs you to do. I apply this all over my face 1-2 times a week right before bed and leave it on over night. My skin feels SO incredibly hydrated the next day its amazing. I notice if I don't use this one week that my skin is noticeably much dryer despite using a regular face moisturiser every day.

3. Origins GinZing - I use this in the winter, often instead of the Liz Earle face exfoliator just because it is slightly less abrasive on the skin, as its also from their radiance boosting range I feel like it leaves my skin looking much brighter and more refreshed. I use this product at least twice a week.

4. Body Shop Camomile cleansing oil - This stuff is incredible for taking your make-up off and is so gentle on the skin, even over the eyes for that pesky mascara. I love this in the winter, because it's oil based it doesn't leave my skin feeling really dry and dehydrated after I use this. I often get quite oily skin so even though this is an oil it doesn't make my skin feel oiler, so don't let that put you off.

5. Lush Bubblegum lip scrub - Firstly not only does it taste amazing I find that in the winter my lips tend to get very dry and cracked, so I use this maybe once a week to remove the dead skin off my lips (I know gross!!) and it makes my lips feel noticeably softer and I then find that my using a lip balm they stay hydrated and moisturised for a lot longer, than if I don't use this lip scrub.

6. Nivea smooth nourishing hand lotion - I don't know about you but my hands are ALWAYS so dry in the winter. This is definitely by far one of my favourite hand creams, it is a really intensive moisturiser and I just keep it right by my bed and apply it before I sleep. I also carry it around in my bag too, just incase!

These are my go to products, especially during the cold winter months, where our skin isn't always the best, especially in comparison to summer.

I'd love to know what products you guys use.

Love Jess

A Tinted Moisturizer You All Need

Hey guys,

When I hear the words Tinted Moisturiser I automatically think little coverage and oily looking skin. It's no wonder really, the majority I have tried meet that assumption.

After taking a spontaneous trip into Space NK a few months ago I saw this Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. Being the make-up addict I am, I thought I'd at least give this a go.
Turns out I'm in love with this product (if that were at all possible). I adore the fact it doesn't meet my previous expectations, in fact it has totally changed my perception on tinted moisturizer's. This product has simply become my go to everyday base, it has totally replaced my foundations. Its lightweight yet gives a decent coverage and you can build it if you like, for me personally I don't do that, as I feel one application is enough. As the formula of this product is oil free I believe this is the key to why my skin is less oily when using this product. As soon as I saw those words I was won over. This is perfect for a lightweight natural finish and is ideal for anyone with sensitive or oily skin.(Mine definitely can be on the oily side).

I've loved this product so much over the summer months, as it also includes SPF 20 in, which protects my skin from the sun, whilst still leaving me with a natural looking finish to my skin, with a dewy glow, but not at all greasy.

I am so thankful I found this product, it's totally my go to and just makes a wonderful change from foundations which I'm not always a big fan of, on a day to day basis.
Laura Mercier you have won me over with your fabulous tinted moisturizer.

Have you tried this product? Or any other tinted moisturizers you have been loving?
