FEELING FABULOUS IN MY PINEAPPLE DRESS

Do you ever wear something and feel yourself in it! Well thats exactly how I feel wearing this super cute midi pineapple dress.

I have to say I am not usually one for wearing midi dresses, but this is so cute, and so easy to wear. It has two little slits up the side which make it feel more elegant, and you can show a bit of leg, as you walk.

I get this impression that it looks more expensive than it actually is, but in actual fact it came from Primark! Utter bargain and I could not be happier with it. I think it was around £13, so super affordable, it isn’t see through at all, so no VPL showing, which is always a bonus. I mean who wants to see my pants? no one, I’m sure.

I’ve styled my pineapple dress with my vans, making the outfit look very casual not to mention I’m all about comfort, and of course my current summer staple neither I, nor the whole of Instagram can seem to live without; my circular straw bag.
Its not exactly adventurous, but for me I feel fantastic in this outfit, and I am trying to approach my style with more *I don't care* attitude and push myself to wear things, that perhaps even a year ago, I wouldn’t have dreamt of wearing.

Dress: Primark

THE ANIMAL PRINT BLOUSE

How beautiful is this shirt, I am absolutely in love with it, not to mention it feels so luxurious! I recently picked up this beauty whilst I was browsing Topshop, and I just couldn't resist. At first I was concerned with the tie up detail down the middle it may be slightly too revealing, however, I tried it on and realised getting a smaller size was utterly perfect.
As I said it feels so much more expensive than it is, it has a silk feel, although it is 100% polyester, and costs only £34. I really love how the bluson sleeves also add a little extra detail, and in this weather the long sleeve is very welcomed.
I decided to team this with a pair of high waisted black trousers, however, you could easily create a more causal look with a pair of skinny jeans, or even a pair of mom jeans would look really cool. I'm excited to style this a number of different ways.
If i'm honest animal print isn't usually my thing, although I think what helps for this one is that its got that beautiful blush pink, and the pattern isn't harsh or overwhelming in any way.

What are your thoughts on the animal print blouse?

i definitely didn't need a new coat

I saw this faux leather style biker jacket recently in Urban Outfitters, and I thought I must have it. Not because I don't already have enough coats and jackets (because obviously I do). But because I wanted/needed a winter replacement of my casual faux leather jacket. Sadly with the cold Yorkshire weather, my original leather jacket was just not enough to keep me warm in the winter months. I came across this one, and instantly fell in love, its got a faux fur lining which adds to the much needed warmth.

For a jacket I did not think it was too expensive at £99, I thought i'd wait a little bit when I initially saw it, and boy am I glad I did. I couldn't believe nearly a week later I saw it online in the black Friday sales. I immediately hit the purchase button, and it arrived at my front door a couple days later. I could not be happier with my new purchase.
I will tell myself this will be the last jacket I need, but I can guarantee next winter will approach us, and I obviously will need another.

What I love most about this jacket, is that it come up quite oversized, which in the winter is fantastic, because i'm usually found wearing about a million layers. I have tried to link it from the online store, however, it sadly seems to be unavailable. It may be in some Urban Outfitters stores, so I would recommend keeping a look out if you love it. If it comes back online, I will be sure to link it.

girls rule

This has to be currently one of my favourite outfits to wear at the moment. Looking back, there would have been a time where I would rarely wear white, especially on the bottom half, i'm not even sure why. However, these pin-stripe trousers from Topshop (Shop similar here) are one of my most comfortable and flattering pairs of trousers I own. I decided to team them with the girls rule t-shirt from Topshop as well, i'm all about that slogan tee life at the moment. I haven't been able to find that one online, however, there are a lot of similar slogan tees available. Of course I had to wear this with my chelsea boots, it may still be August but as the weather really is not the best, I feel like I need to resort back to my natural place of loving autumn and winter style. Although, on one hand I still want to be wearing cute dresses, I guess I just cannot make my mind up.

I recently posted this outfit on Instagram, which you can check out here

ordering new glasses online

Have you ever ordered prescription glasses online? I certainly hadn't, until now.
I was recently approached by a brand called Firmoo* asking to send me a free pair of prescription glasses, which coincidently fell just in time with the fact I needed a new pair anyway.
I'll be honest, I was very skeptical, how would I know they looked good? what if it wasn't the correct prescription? I had all of these thoughts around the fact it was online ordering. Well, my perception has quickly changed, I was so impressed and quite shocked at the ease of ordering online.

PRESCRIPTION

I firstly had to enter the details of my prescription requirements which I was given from my opticians and I inputted the data into the Firmoo website when ordering. This part was pretty self explanatory, as I just had to fill in the sections, which were clearly labelled.

PICKING A PAIR OF GLASSES

This was the hardest part, mainly because I am the most indecisive person going, but also because Firmoo offer such a huge range of frames, that will suit everyone's style or need. My first question "how will I know if they look good" was quickly answered when I realised you can upload a photograph of your face and try on the glasses like that. Pretty genius right! This made choosing an appropriate pair a lot easier as I was able to see whether the frame would be the correct size for my face. I then managed to get my selection down to two pairs, but being indecisive, I wanted to take my time on the selection, after all I do have to wear them every single day. This is another reason I have come to love ordering online, I can sit and choose my glasses in the comfort of my own home, rather than being pressured to make a decision immediately. Most of the frames were around the £20 price, which is a fraction of the price you would pay in an opticians on the high street, I couldn't believe how easy it was to get a pair of prescription glasses so cheap.

DELIVERY

I received order confirmation and it informed me that my glasses would arrive between 7-14 working days, which I thought was very reasonable considering a. they are being shipped all of the way from America, and b. it takes the optician in town that sort of time to prepare your glasses.
My firmoo order turned up on my door step around 3 days after ordering, I could not believe how quick the process was, and I loved the fact they were quicker than going to town and getting my glasses, this is just another reason why I will be ordering from Firmoo again.

Overall I am so utterly impressed with the quality, design and speed of my order, I love the fact they are cheap, and by that I mean SO cheap compared to most glasses in most high-street opticians, I couldn't get over the fact they are really good quality for the price too.

Have you ever ordered from Firmoo, or other online glasses retailers? what was your experience?

I have made a youtube video as well which talks all about my experience, and Firmoo have kindly given my viewers a buy one get one free offer which you can get by heading over to my youtube channel.

I'll be back again soon, thank you all for reading X

*Firmoo kindly sent me the pair of glasses for free, this is not a sponsored post and all opinions are solely my own.

holiday outfits

Just looking at these photos I'm getting all the feels to go back on holiday somewhere. But, alas I will just have to reminisce for now.

These photos were from my trip to Malta a few months ago ( I know I am sorry its taken so long). I think my ultimate favourite is the Topshop floral dress, it is just so versatile and I have worn it on a number of occasions since purchasing it for my holiday.
You can view my lookbook I created for these outfits, which I was pretty happy with so I hope you enjoy that.
I'm finally getting back into the swing of things in terms of blogging and all things social and I am happy with the way things are going, so make sure you stay tuned!

blue stripy playsuit

Firstly, apologies that these are the best quality photographs; don't get me wrong they were taken on iPhone 6s so are not by any means the worst, but my mum took them and she could not grasp the concept of how to use a DSLR camera.
Secondly, how wonderful is this Zara Playsuit, yes it is deceiving it looks like a dress but is in fact a playsuit, which is why I love it even more. I picked this beauty up just as it went into the Sale, I had my eye on it before hand and well it was just meant to be when I could see that red sale sticker attached to the label. I've seen a few people wearing this playsuit and thought they looked amazing in it, but for some reason I didn't feel as though it would be the right choice for me. I am fairly tall and as you can see this isn't the longest playsuit I have ever worn so I have to admit I did, at first feel some what self conscious in it. Then I realised, I shouldn't care, its a playsuit, not a dress so there was no chance of me flashing my bum and I loved it so why shouldn't I wear it!?

I spent the day exploring RHS Rosemoor gardens which was utterly beautiful and I am actually going to do a separate blog post just on the day there. So as you can see I wore this to Rosemoor, and it was perfect for such a warm summers day, wandering around acres of ground.

I picked the playsuit up for £17.99 and when I last looked I could not find it online, however, there were some in stores so it's definitely worth checking if this is something you like. If not, there are so many very similar styles out there on asos and also Zara. the blue stripe, in oversized clothing seems to be massively in at the moment and I am totally diggin' it! I just hope that summer lasts a little longer so I can get a few more wears out of it until I plan another holiday. I teamed this playsuit with my black and white old skool vans, so a little bit of a casual look, but I have visions of it looking fabulous with a pair of espadrilles, which is the beauty of this playsuit it is so versatile.

How do you style playsuits?

I'm loving this blogging thing again, so I will back soon with another post, but for now I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend! x

GARNIER FACE MASKS

I recently saw these new Garnier face masks in Boots and thought I had to give them a go. Well i've tried and tested them and I can safely say they are so good. I love the brand Garnier anyway and have used a variety of their products for a while, so I had no doubt that I would also love these as well. They do a couple more new face masks but I picked these three up as I thought they would be the most appropriate for my skin.
I have to say my favourite is the Volcano mask which targets pore minimisation - I did resemble looking like an Umpa Lumpa once I had applied it though.

I will definitely be re purchasing these I think they are nice and they are gentle on my skin too which is something I always look for in face masks. After this weekend of hot weather I think my face will definitely need the Anti-Thirst mask.

Have you tried any of these new Garnier masks? If you have which one is your current favourite?

3 AUTUMN OUTFITS

Hey Everyone,

I recently shot a lookbook over on my youtube channel, and I thought I would share with you the outfits. I had so much fun shooting this, although let me tell you, behind the scenes is not so glamorous, its bloody freezing in November, but I'm so pleased with how it turned out.
I'm completely obsessed with this dust pink colour I have in my top and bobble hat, that I teamed with my current favourite dungarees.

My third outfit was the zara faux suede coat with the most beautiful bell sleeve jumper, which is just so cool I absolutely love it. And the final outfit, was a super casual cream oversized jumper with of course black jeans and my trusty vans.

all of the clothes shown are all linked in my youtube description box, let me know what your favourite outfit is.

autumn and winter try on haul

Hey guys,

I have recently been loving the change in weather, now that we are in Autumn, those cold mornings so many people hate them, but me, I love them. I'm completely obsessed with autumn winter fashion, and if I am honest with you, I personally think that what the high-streets have to offer this season is perfect, the trends are my kind of thing. I mean a girl can never have too many knitted jumpers, right!?
I've been a bit spendy recently, and can you blame me, with asos offering free next day delivery. I managed to pick up some lovely inexpensive pieces from asos, topshop, zara and H&M.

I have uploaded a new youtube video so you can see what I have bought and I have even inserted a try on for you all as well.

I hope you enjoy.

get ready with me

I decided to do a chatty get ready with me, for a evening out with the girls. I've kept my makeup simple, but have used a colour chameleon eye pencil by Charlotte Tilbury just to take the look from day to night. As its getting a little chilly now, I thought it was the perfect excuse to get away with wearing a nice big knit with a skirt, keeping it less casual for an evening out.

Let me know if you like this look

Clothing haul

Over the course of December and January, I have picked up a few clothing items from Topshop, ASOS and Urban Outfitters, so I thought I would share them with you guys in a new video. It's only a short try on haul, i'm happy with the purchases I have made, although sadly I wish it was more summer items I was buying. Is it just me or is anyone else ready for the summer now!?

Let me know which are your favourite items.

My New Years Resolutions

Hey guys,

Welcome back to my blog, as you can see I have left it far too long.. AGAIN! I'm making it my mission not to do it again, I am so excited to focus on my blog and my youtube channel again because it's a fun creative release away from work and University.

I thought I would start of the first post of 2016 with my new years resolutions.

1. Travel more

Last year I visited Iceland and Portugal and it was so much fun, after having not left England for over 8 years it felt amazing to be able to get on a plane and see some beautiful places (even if I was terrified to get on the plane). So after falling in love with the idea of travelling I am hoping to visit many more places in 2016, once I have finished University in May.

2. Get fit

If anyone knows me well, they will know that I love exercise and eating healthy, but over the past few months I have really lost track of what I was doing and I must admit I absolutely hate it. So I have decided to really focus on my fitness and the things I like to eat and hopefully I can share some of these ideas with you in order to motivate and inspire others on my fitness journey.

3. Explore London more

This one sounds a little silly, but I live in London and have done over the past 3 years, and when I sit down and think about it I think actually I have barely seen any cool places in London. So I want to be able to get off the tube at a stop I perhaps haven't even heard of and just wander to see what I find. Hopefully I can get some nice pictures for my blog and share the places I go with you.

4. Attend all of my lectures

I am notoriously bad for just reading all of my lectures online, but I have made a pact to myself and promised my boyfriend that I will attend them all. I've just completed my first week and it was so great, I feel as though I have learnt so much more and I know it is really going to benefit me when writing my essays.

5. Socialise with friends more

Whilst I definitely socialise day to day and I am a very chatty person,  I sometimes forget to take time out of my schedule and say yes to that meal, and yes to those drinks with my closest friends. I think it is so important to spend quality time with the closest people around you, despite how busy you are, so I am making it my mission to take time out with my nearest and dearest.

I hope you like some of the new years resolutions I have, I have also made a youtube video talking about them all.

Let me know if you have made any resolutions, I would love to hear them.

Love Jess

Life of late

Is it just me, or does anyone else find that sometimes all things in life, make you feel so busy and rushed off your feet? I feel like this a lot recently, however my year at university is nearing an end, until September, although I have exams to battle through first. Oh the joys!

I thought i'd give you a little update of what I have been getting up to, until my next post.

This photo from snapchat does not do the weather justice, but I was driving home to Devon for the week to spend time with my family, and it felt so good to have such wonderful weather, I can finally go to the beach without being drenched in rain.

You guys are probably going to think this photo is really weird, but it has taken me up until yesterday to update my phone to the new I0S 7. Oopsie! It is amazing though, I feel like I have a brand new phone, which isn't really great for my battery life though.

Its so wonderful to take some chilled out time for myself in my family home, away from the stresses of university and living in busy London. I enjoyed my breakfast, reading the new River Island magazine, which by the way they have some great pieces in for spring/summer. I was highly impressed.

I'm currently embracing my natural hair, its no way near as curly as it ever used to be, thanks to years of straightening it. However I should take more care of my hair and learn that going natural is fabulous.

Take care, Jess x
